Term 2 Week 10 Newsletter - 03.07.25
Principal News

As another busy and exciting term draws to a close, we wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and partnership throughout the past few months.
We wish you all a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break. It's a valuable time for children to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. We encourage them to continue reading and engaging in fun, educational activities during this period.
We look forward to welcoming all our students back refreshed and ready for an exciting new term on Tuesday, 22nd July.
Playground Feedback
This week, we asked our Year 3-6 students to complete a short survey on our playground changes. We had 50 students submit responses. This is a snapshot of what they said.

Responses that did not see an improvement added comments like:
-I feel the same.
-It doesn't feel safer or happier because the old playground down at the sand pit was really fun where the year 6 classrooms are .
-LET ME KICK FOOTBALLS
-I don't feel "safer" because I never don't feel safe, I feel fine about the way it is.
Responses that saw an improvement added comments like:
-It's got more areas and a designated area for tag so that fewer people are getting hurt.
-It feels better because it won't be as busy on the soccer field.
-Because it's way more fun then before because the handballs kept on getting out.
-I feel better because there was lots of balls and kids got hit a lot of the time.

You'll find all the details you need in the flyer below. We're really looking forward to seeing as many of our staff and families there as possible!

A "Grateful" End to Term 2!
What a wonderful way to wrap up Term 2! Our very clever Year 1 students led a heartwarming liturgy all about being grateful, reminding us about all the great things that have happened in the first half of 2025. It was a beautiful and reflective way to bring our busy semester to a close. We were wowed with some beautiful liturgical dances and blown away with the confidence and care shown by our students. Thank you to Mrs Parker who did an amazing job preparing her class to lead so beautifully. We are very proud of 1L.
Also a big thank you to the families who joined us! We are so grateful for the support you show for our liturgies and special events.
We've truly had a great semester filled with learning, growth, and fun across all our classes. From new discoveries in the classroom to exciting activities and community events, it's been a joy to see our students flourish.
As we head into the break, we wish all our families a safe, restful, and happy holiday! We can't wait to see everyone back for Term 3.

Learning & Teaching News

Year 2 students have been learning how to write compound and complex sentences. They are learning how to use the Success Criteria for writing in order to give each other feedback to help make their writing more effective and interesting.

Year 5 Slam Poetry

Year 5 have been learning about Slam Poetry this term in English. Slam Poetry is an expressive form of poetry that combines elements of performance and writing that have an emphasis on emotional delivery and social themes.
These poems were quick writes. The students had only 15 mins to compose these based on a stimulus picture. They were so excited to share them with their teachers and Mrs Rose!
