Prayer for Peace

Peace isn't just an absence of conflict; it's an active choice we make every day. It's in the way we listen to each other, the respect we show for different perspectives, and the compassion we offer when someone needs support. As we navigate the school year, let's commit to cultivating peace in our classrooms, playgrounds, and beyond. Every small act of kindness contributes to a larger tapestry of understanding and acceptance. Let's be architects of peace, together.

We pray for peace in the many conflicts unfolding around the world today.

End of Term 2

The final day for students for Term 2 will be Thursday, 3rd of July. On Friday staff will be engaging in our Spirituality Day.

2026 Kindergarten Enrolments

It has been a pleasure to interview several of our prospective Kindergarten students for 2026 and meet their families. We have a significant number of these who already have siblings at our school. We are excited to have begun our planning and look forward to welcoming these students to our wonderful school later in the year. First round offers have been sent out today.

School Community Group

We had a good turnout at our School Community Group gathering on Thursday evening. A summary of the evening will be provided next week.

The link below also provides some FAQ responses regarding future planning for OLHC.

Sports News

At OLHC, we love celebrating the sporting achievements of all our students. If your child has a special achievement that you would love for us to share with the school community, please send any photos and a short paragraph outlining their achievement to Mr Denny - zachary.denny@lism.catholic.edu.au

Athletics Carnival:

Unfortunately Riverview has been deemed too wet to proceed with our Athletics Carnival. We will instead be holding our Athletics Carnival at Woodlawn on the same date (27th of June). Parking is limited, therefore we recommend carpooling as the preferred method of transport.

If you are able to help on the day with timekeeping or measuring, could you please let me know.

Congrats to our top finishers who will now progress to the Richmond Zone Carnival and to all who finished the race — your hard work and sportsmanship truly stood out. Whether it was your first race or another personal best, well done!

Young Archie Art Competition

The Lismore Regional Gallery invites budding artists between the ages of 5 and 18 to submit a portrait for the Young Archie competition.

The portrait must be of a person who is special to you – someone who is known to you and who knows you and plays a significant role in your life. We prefer that the portrait is ‘painted from life’ and that your subject has a sitting for their portrait, like with the Archibald Prize. You may also create the portrait from memory or take your own photograph to use for reference.

There are four age categories:

  • 5–8 year olds
  • 9–12 year olds
  • 13–15 year olds
  • 16–18 year olds

Free to enter. To be considered for selection, the entrant must comply with all entry instructions and conditions, term and conditions available at https://lismoregallery.org/the-young-archie-competition.
